About the Photographer

John Ventresco has been a professional photographer for over 25 years. As a student in high school, he decided to take up photography, thereafter attending Franklin Institute of Photography in Boston and then apprenticing with a photographer from Boston. As John’s interest and skills grew, his passion for photography seemed endless.

At this time, John and his wife Yvonne started Starlight Photography in 1982, which has since grown into a successful wedding/portrait and Bar/Bat Mitzvah studio.

“I feel very fortunate that at an early age I realized what I am creating are images of people at a happy time and at a special moment.”

John is continually working to elevate his style of photography as an art form with emphasis on capturing candid photographs of the celebration. He uses his skills of portrait and candid moments to give his clients a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. Unlike snapshot photographs, the style offered by Starlight Photography will carry a lasting value that preserves your special day for generations to come. Often asked how he still loves what he is doing when he started at such a young age, John replies, “I’ve learned to visualize the beauty around me whether it is people or nature and its surroundings.”

“I am asked many times what makes your images so unique and special. My answer is that I capture from my heart. It is never just another job. To be able to see what your heart feels and put it into film is the greatest feeling. Being a professional photographer is a unique profession in which I get to see the beauty and capture it through the lens for people to enjoy throughout their lives and to share with future generations.”

John has studied with many of the world’s very best photographic artists and masters, such as Louise and Joseph Simone of Canada and the Tuscan region of Italy. Continually entering local, national, and international competitions, he has won many awards including an acceptance into the prestigious Professional Photographers of America’s Traveling Loan Collection. Starlight’s old-world style, blended with the latest trends, is a combination that will make your day the best. John is a firm believer that your special day is not a photo session, but that your family formals and images will become priceless and that your reception will be treated as fun and spontaneous. At such occasions, the photographers at Starlight Studio will be unobtrusive, but within eye contact.

Kristopher, Yvonne and John’s son, has now come into the family business and is studying with world renowned Michelle Celentano of Phoenix, Arizona, who has made her market in the photojournalistic style of weddings. Starlight Photography is truly a family owned and operated business and still believes in genuine service to their clients.

Starlight Photography highly recommends a personal consultation at our gallery to discuss your thoughts, ideas, and expectations of your special day, as well as showing you more of who we are and the style and quality of photography we produce.
