A MILESTONE YEAR IN THE MAKING!
I am incredibly honored and excited to share that I have officially earned my Master of Wedding Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA)!
This prestigious degree recognizes excellence in wedding photography through outstanding image-making, continued education, and service to the photographic profession. It is an achievement that represents years of dedication, creativity, perseverance, and a passion for capturing lifes most meaningful moments.
What makes this milestone even more special is the photograph Im sharing with you today.
Titled Just Us, this image received a Merit in PPAs 2026 Merit Image Review—and it was the FINAL merit I needed to earn my Master of Wedding Photography degree! ?
There is something truly special about wedding photography. Beyond the beautiful venues, celebrations, and details, its about the people, their connections, and those fleeting moments that become treasured memories for generations.
Having grown up in our family photography business, Starlight Photography, founded by my parents in 1982, photography has been more than a career for me. It has been a lifelong journey of learning, growing, and continually challenging myself to become a better artist and storyteller.
I am especially proud to add this distinction to my existing Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees.
To my family, fellow photographers, mentors, and friends who have encouraged and inspired me along the way—thank you!
And most importantly, to the incredible couples who have entrusted me with documenting one of the most important days of their lives, THANK YOU! Your trust allows me to do what I love, and I am forever grateful.
While this degree represents a significant milestone in my photographic journey, the pursuit of excellence never ends. There is always more to learn, more to create, and more stories to tell.
